Can I order online and pick up my order in-store?

Yes. In-store pickup is available as an option during checkout.

Will you place a special order for a yarn or brand I want if it's out-of-stock?

Yes. We can place special orders from any of the companies HPY works with. Additional shipping charges may apply.

Will all the yarn I purchase be from the same dye lot?

We always check dye lots on all purchases. We strongly recommend purchasing enough yarn to complete your entire project at one time to avoid dye-lot variations.

What types of lessons do you offer? 

We offer both private and semi-private lessons. We strongly recommend private lessons for beginners—those with no prior experience in knitting or crocheting—or if you want to focus on a specific skill or technique that needs personalized guidance.
Cost: $40 private and $30 per person for semi-private for both knit and crochet. Various days and times are available. Please call the shop to schedule.

Can you help me if I make a mistake?

Understanding a pattern or encountering an issue while knitting or crocheting can be frustrating. We can help you with your project at our HELP TABLE, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 am -11:30 am. We will assist you individually in our group setting. $20 per session.

How do I sign up for classes and special events?

Registration for classes, workshops, and special events can be done on our website and/or by visiting or calling our shop.

Do you supply copies of patterns? 

Photocopying patterns is a copyright violation. However, we’re happy to provide copies of free patterns. Patterns that are available for purchase must be bought through Ravelry or other authorized pattern retailers.

Can you help me to read my pattern? 

We are happy to review the pattern with you when you purchase a pattern from HPY. If you need additional help in understanding your pattern, you may be required to join us at our help table for $20.

Do you charge a fee to wind yarn?

Yarn purchased at HPY can be wound for no additional charge. Yarn purchased elsewhere can be wound for $2 per skein

Do you have finishing services?

We work with independent finishers who can complete your items. While they are not HPY employees, we coordinate getting your pieces to them.

Do you sell gift cards, and do they have an expiration date?

Yes, we sell gift cards for both in-store and online purchases. Gift cards are final sale and cannot be redeemed for cash.
